 Widows and young women were married in Kano

Relatives and friends as well as wealthy friends attended the Friday Grand Mosque of Kano where they witnessed the marriage of widows and young women that the Kano state government took responsibility to manage.

The Kano state government has said that it is responsible for marrying about 1,800 widows and girls to support them in building the foundation of family life and improving social affairs.

The wedding was held at the Juma Mosque in Kano and across the 44 local governments of the state.

The head of HISBA Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa said that they have formed a committee to follow up on the marriage to ensure that they live together peacefully and that there is no divorce or abuse.

He then said that they will create a mobile court to prosecute all grooms who abuse their brides.
