 Flooding has forced over 4000 people to leave their homes in Ghana

More than 4,000 residents of south-eastern Ghana have been forced to leave their homes due to floods.

This problem was caused by the floods caused by the Akosombo Dam, which destroyed houses and farms along the banks of the Volta River.

The floods caused disruptions to important services, with some areas losing water and electricity.

The government of Ghana, in a statement, has confirmed that thousands of people in at least nine districts have lost their homes as a direct result of the flood, as reported by the country's media.

The International Disaster Management Agency, which is under the authority of the United Nations, reported that there was a loss of goods and infrastructure in seven villages.

Before the floods, the Volta River Management Board issued an advisory urging residents to move to a different location.
