SSS detained Bawa after Tinubu suspended him

After being invited to spend the night at the SSS office, the former Chairman of the EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, is currently there. He has accepted the invitation that was extended to him.

Shortly after President Bola Tinubu made the announcement that he would be suspended, he was invited by the SSS.

The arrest of Bawa comes three days after the SSS arrested the Governor of the Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, who was suspended by Tinubu last week. Bawa's detention comes as a result of Tinubu's decision to suspend Emefiele.

According to the notice that was included with Bawa's suspension, the invitation and detention of Bawa are both components of the investigation that has been initiated in connection to his allegations and the incident.

In a statement that was published on his Twitter page at 10:48 p.m., SSS spokesperson Peter Afunanya acknowledged both the invitation to Bawa and the incarceration of the individual.

Two weeks after a disagreement between the EFCC and SSS in Lagos, which took place a day after Tinubu was sworn in as governor, Bawa was suspended.

The dispute between the SSS and the EFCC began on May 30, when the SSS prevented the EFCC from entering their office in Lagos for over a day by blocking all possible entrances to the building.

It wasn't until President Tinubu took action and gave them instructions to collaborate closely with one another that the predicament was finally resolved.

The information that Tinubu had Bawa removed from his position at the EFCC was reported by PREMIUM TIMES.

Without any delay, President Bola Tinubu removed Abdulrasheed Bawa from his position as Chairman of the EFCC.

According to a statement that was released by Willie Bassey, who is the Publicity Director of the Office of the Secretary to the Federal Government, Bawa has been ordered to immediately give over the keys of operations to the Director of Operations of the EFCC. This information was included in the statement.

According to the statement, Bawa has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the inquiry into the charges made against him.

Bawa, who succeeded Ibrahim Magu as head of the EFCC, continued Magu's policies after taking over the agency. Bawa's actions had the same effect as Magu's.

The annals of history demonstrate that not a single EFCC president has ever successfully completed his term and vacated his office without being removed from office.

Nuhu Ribadu, Farida Waziri, and Ibrahim Lamurde were all dismissed from their positions.

The reason for Bawa's suspension as well as the precise allegations that have been brought against him have not been disclosed as of yet.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has already refuted the charge that the former governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, accused him of asking for a bribe of two million dollars. However, it should not be forgotten that Bello Matawalle made this accusation.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) responded to Matawalle by saying that it accused him of embezzling 70 billion Naira from the Zamfara government fund. This is the reason why he feels such embarrassment.
