Prayer Festival: RSF called for a two-day ceasefire

General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, who is in charge of the RSF and is fighting against the Sudanese army, said that they will stop fighting during the Sallah holiday.

Today, Tuesday, and tomorrow, Wednesday, the fire is going.

Dagalo said that he thought the Salar holiday would give everyone a chance to be treated the same.

So far, the Sudanese army hasn't said anything about the halt.

Since the war in Sudan started in the middle of April of last year, at least 2,000 people have died and many more have been hurt.

IOM says that more than two million people have been forced to leave their homes because of the violence and that more than 600,000 of them have crossed into neighboring countries.

The UN says that more than half of the country's population, or more than 25 million people, need help and safety.

In the past, the warring sides have come to an understanding to stop fighting. However, they then accuse each other of breaking the agreement.

Sudan's war has been going on for a few days now, even though Saudi Arabia and the United States tried to help find a solution.
