Burna Boy, a well-known modern Nigerian singer, and Libianca, a singer from Cameroon, won the grand prize at the BET competition, which was held last Sunday in Los Angeles, USA.

The full name of Burna Boy is Damini Ogulu. He beat out great singers like Aya Nakamura from France, Ella Mai, Stormzy, and Ayra Starr, all from the UK, to win the "Best International Act" award.

Since the award was first given out in 2018, Nigerian artists have won it almost every day. The first winner was Davido, who was followed by Burna Boy, who won 4 years in a row, in 2019, 2020, and 2021, and the most recent one, was last Sunday.

And the Libyan singer Kenzon Kinboum Fonji from Cameroon beat a Nigerian singer named Asake to win the "Best New International" award, which was the second-highest prize in this competition.
