Kano state's new governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has given his new commissioners six months to prove themselves. Getting in touch with the commissioners and others
Kano state's new governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has given his new commissioners six months to prove themselves.
Governor Yusuf told the commissioners and other members of the state executive council on Wednesday that they were chosen based on their merit, professionalism, past success, and ability.
He told them to work hard at their jobs.
"Let me tell you all to keep up the same level of loyalty, dedication, and commitment to duty, and to be honest when doing your jobs. Be honest, take responsibility, and remember that good people have put their trust in us.
"I want to remind you that your appointment is on trial for six months. After that, a monitoring and evaluation team led by me will watch how the ministries are doing. Those who did a good job will be praised, and those who did a bad job will be fired."
The Governor told the commissioners to work together for the people of Kano because he thinks they are the best team to save the state from the "mismanagement" of the last government and bring the benefits of democracy to all parts of the state.
Governor Abba took the chance to thank the people of the state and reassure them that as the journey begins, they will soon start to see good changes that will directly affect their lives.
