We have evidence that Russia is torturing innocent people in Ukraine - MDD

The UN said it has proof that the Russian army is torturing and killing some of the 864 people it has taken over in the east of Ukraine.

According to the report, most of the civilians are officials, community leaders, and members of civil society who are thought to be helping the Ukrainian army.

The report didn't say anything about how Ukrainian army officers were treated after they were taken, but it did say that Russian forces killed 77 civilians in what investigators called a war crime.

The report also said that when the Russian troops detained civilians, they often beat them.

The story doesn't just talk about the Russian army. It has come to light that there are also Ukrainian soldiers who are accused of abusing civilians, though not to the same extent as in the areas controlled by Russia.
